Current position
The Howat site does not intentionally set non-essential analytics, advertising or profiling cookies. The quotation calculation runs in your browser and is not saved by HOWAT LTD unless you choose to send it. Your selected display currency is remembered in local browser storage so later estimates use the same choice.
Essential technology
The hosting platform or security infrastructure may use strictly necessary cookies or short-lived identifiers to deliver the site, distribute traffic, prevent abuse or maintain service security. These cannot be switched off through a consent banner because they are required to provide the service.
Routing services
For a UK road-distance calculation, the server sends the entered postcode to postcode and road-routing services. For an outside-UK straight-line calculation, it sends the address to OpenStreetMap geocoding after you click calculate. The site does not use either action to create an advertising profile. See the privacy notice for more information.
If this changes
If non-essential analytics or marketing technology is introduced, the policy and consent mechanism will be updated before that technology is enabled.
